Nothing, not even an unfamilar keyboard set up could stop me from writing this review from the middle of the Yucatan. Cenotes are sinkholes of clear, deep blue water found in geological areas called karst. Yucatan is one such area, and its cenotes were used for thousands of years by the Yucatec Maya and other peoples for religious purposes. Nowadays, busloads of tourists use the cenotes for their purposes, mainly cooling off from the tropical heat and Spanish comprehension failures. Some of both prompted and facilited our escape from bustling Piste, Mexico just 4 kilometers away and the jumping off point for the Chichen Itza ruins.

The bathrooms here featured clean, milky marble, toilet paper and a giant speedo on the floor. The speedo may not be there forever, but neither will you. Good stuff.

Fresh flowers, aroma and jungle view welcome those that visit this restroom. Soft handmade soup awaits guests in the stone carved sink table (truly lovely design). Soft toilet tissue, fresh clean W.C. booths with mahogany wood doors to assure privacy were you need it, a small sofa carved in the stone corner wall delights any female who wishes to wait for a friend or two.

We learned Hacienda Chichen is highly committed to "Green Waste Policies" they recycle their waste and have a state-of-the-arts septic system that uses biodigestable tanks with man-made wetlands to treat their waste and gray waters, impressive system that any guest is welcome to tour and get information over the way they treat their waste water and use it for nourishing the roots of native trees near their water waste management system.
