This is a big bathroom. This is a big bathroom. ---- (that was an echo)

The mens bathroom at this roadside gas station appeared to have been propped up by stagehands overnight.. perhaps the result of a single unisex bathroom no longer meeting their needs. Whatever the case, the bathroom was obviously not designed under ideal conditions. The lack of a working lock on the door made for a pretty tense urination. Often times, I am able to prop my foot against the door to prevent unwanted entry but the door was much too far to reach without using GO-GO-GADGET gimmicks.

In addition, the flickering flourescent lights were painfully annoying.

The first visitor center near the base of Mt. St. Helens (elevation: 3,200 ft.) features this incredibly clean restroom. I half expected Mr. Clean himself to appear around the corner; then slyly (yet boldly) cross his arms and laugh – as only Mr. Clean can. So that’s where my $5.00 visitor fee is going. (Fortunately, access to the bathroom was also permitted for those too cheap to cough up the 5 bucks.)

A restroom to make Sid and Nancy’s interior decorator green with envy. This authenticly punk lavatory in a downtown Seattle cafe was filled with "Martha Stewart-on-heroin" sponge paintings and DIY wallpaper jobs.

The fixtures were old and leaky; possibly described by some as "untouchable".

Located just below the famous Pike Place Market, this fetid facility reeked of stale urine and mildew. Thus, you can understand my slight chuckle as I read the "NO LOITERING" sign above the urinals. This site didn’t rank high on areas I would like to loiter around.

Also noteable at this location was the soiled black and white tilework which I found ugly yet entertaining. The foyer featured tile silhouettes of a cowboy and cowgirl under the titles MEN and WOMEN.

The women’s restroom was quite busy with 10 minute waiting line.

New artwork...

One of the two urinals has been out of order for the past 2 years but with amount of traffic, you hardly miss it. They have recently renovated the paint to include some local artwork which makes this a generous 6. However the bar itself is full of friendlies and I would recommend it to anyone.
