How does your rating system work?
The reviews on this site are immensely subjective. We do not use a complex formula or a strict checklist of items to derive a final score. In fact, sometimes you may notice small dingy restrooms getting ranked higher than what would be considered a technically superior peer. Additionally, submitted reviews are not stringently checked for accuracy. In response to critics of our style-over-substance technique; lighten up.

First off, that's not a question but we'll respond anyway. We get lots of email from people telling us to check out certain restrooms. We appreciate this and do our best to see them. Unfortunately we can't make it to every one. You are more than welcome to review the restroom yourself.
Why are most of these reviews from Minnesota?
We live in the Twin Cities. We write most of the reviews. If you´d like to see more representation from your neck-of-the-woods, please take a moment to make a submission.
The bathroom in my house is awesome! I've got turquoise and magenta paisly walls and an Incredible Hulk shower curtain. Can I submit a review of that?
You certainly can, but we won´t display it on this site. RestroomRatings.com specializes in PUBLIC restrooms which would be accessible to anyone off the street.
My restroom has improved (or degraded, be honest now) drastically since you visited it. Could you revise our review?
We would be happy to accomodate with an addendum to the editorial. Of course bribes in the form of cash, DVDs or caramels will help expedite the process.

*SLAP* How rude! Oh, you mean the backend of this website? RestroomRatings uses custom PHP scripts developed by Urban Sub New Media to interface with a mySQL database. RestroomRatings is coded with completely valid XHTML 1.1 and impeccable style sheets. This is a rare trend that is slowly gaining ground thanks to a dilligent design community and the rise of standards-based browsers. What does this mean for you, you ask? Well it means faster load times and content that is easy to see and read on a variety of browsers and devices. Our RSS feed is accessible from a wide variety of applications and devices including PDAs, cellphones and screen-readers for the blind.
