Dinkytowner Cafe
Minneapolis, MN
Reviewed April 8th, 2004
If not for the exposed pipe and electrical work in the ceiling and the littered dirt-covered floor - it would be entirely possible to knock someone unconscious, bring them to this restroom and convince them that they had been asleep for 100 years when they came to. Unprecedented wall-to-wall stainless steel lend a futuristic vibe to this basement cafe/bar/club in Minneapolis' Dinkytown neighborhood. However, I am hoping that by 2100, there will be a intergalactic ban on trough urinals.Doorless entry provided a hands free way of entering and exitting (always a plus when cleanliness is neglible). The floor was tiled with a standard orange tile that seems to cover so many restroom floors; inappropriate considering the black, red and mirror decor throughout the rest of this locale.
The women's restroom was notably filthier and featured dish soap rather than the more elegant $6 bottle of green organic handsoap found in the men's.
