Cafe Havana
Minneapolis, MN
Reviewed September 2nd, 2004
A vivd Cuban restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, Cafe Havana is chocked full of rustic and warm textures. The somewhat obscurely labeled (cubist impressions of a man and woman) restrooms, located towards the back of the narrow building are equally soothing - though lit brighter - a bit of a wake up call after sitting and enjoying drinks for an extended time. The most notable feature upon entering, is probably the chunky brick wall, which seems to be original to the building and seen throughout the rest of the restaurant, if not covered with rich velvet curtains. Bright abstract paintings decorated the walls. All implements were functioning properly. The faucets were sturdy and rigid. The marble countertops were absolutely devoid of even a drip showing the care taken in maintaining this restroom. Visitors concerned about privacy will find the floor-to-ceiling stall doors (yes, a real door) gratifying.
