The most difficult bathrooms to rate are those which do not seem to have a story to tell. Occasionally, even when I'm feeling very tuned in I can walk into a restroom and feel nothing. Sometimes the spirits appear to have abandoned me. Is the bathroom not speaking or am I not listening? Such was the case when I journeyed to the Dalles Char House, a bar/steak joint with more ambiance than its bathrooms. However, I did find two interesting things. Perhaps as a concession to drunks and folks with dementia or Alzheimer's, the name of the place plastered on the walls in front of each urinal and in the single stall in case you forget where you are. Also, who says guys can't urinate and smoke at the same time? There's an ashtray right next to a urinal to facilitate both functions. Just remember to wash your hands afterwards. Please. Thanks.
