Minnow Pond Park

Minnow Pond Park

Edgar, WI

Reviewed July 25th, 2005

A small park with a small man-made pond as it's nerve is home to this attrociously pungent facility. The doorless building featured walled changing facilities - which on hot summer days is sometimes convenient for those who would rather not strip down to their skivvies in the midst of a urine-soaked floor and steaming excremental vapors. A short twist in the labyrinth however will lead you into the lion's den. The fascist regime of public park facilities where matter in it's liquid or gas state takes reign over all entities. The cruel fierce dictator of stench has long ruled over this region and refuses to loosen it's grip.

Admittedly, the stark design of the stainless steel urinal (by Bradley Sheet Metal Stainless, Ltd. Tomahawk, Wisconsin) was pleasing, save for the fact that there was no water to aid in drainage and smell dispersal. The toilet, a simple elevated hole, left more to be desired. Although one does not usually rest their back on the flush tank of a standard toilet, there is something comforting about having that behind you. It tranforms the toilet from a stool into a chair. This is just a stool... with lots of stools inside it. No doubt it is frustrating to encounter a restroom like this - which may account for some rather large dents in the ventilation duct on the men's side of the building. Ironicly enough, this only further hampers the escape of gas.
