Chutney Indian Grill
Columbia Heights, MN
Reviewed August 16th, 2005
In the tiny suburban island of Columbia Heights sits an unassuming Indian deli and buffet. While the tepidly warmed paneer and tandoori chicken was tasty enough, the real highlight here is the large and prominent restroom in the single room outfit. Featuring only a single toilet and sink, there was plenty of room to move around - and the various sturdy bars mounted on the wall could easily accommodate the disabled (or perhaps someone who enjoys combining an upper body workout with their "lower body workout"). The exposed pipes under the sink were slightly unsightly but the lack of a cabinet did allow unfettered access with a wheelchair. For those too good to use the handsoap mounted on the wall, there was a gigantic tub of Dial liquid soap sitting on the sink that was poised for action. Mounted a good eight feet up the plastic-sheated walls was a rather dramatic framed Sobha Singh print of a man and a woman with a pot. Singh was best known for his paintings of Sikh Gurus - so it was interesting to see a more casual subject rendered by the Punjabi master.RESTROOM RATING: 7
