Go upstairs. Sit down. The light comes in the window. You're high up now. Eat. Drink. Get up. Walk down the hall, heading due east. Past the kitchen, before the fire escape. Let them look at you but do not look at them. Let them stare. Let the kids cry. Let the mothers gawk. It is on the right. Its a hard right. They think you're some kind of freak. Open the door. Keep walking and you'll hit a brick wall. Look up and see tile. Its like it doesn't yet know who it is. Its anxious. Its a bathroom. Treat it like one.
