Clicquot Club Cafe

Clicquot Club Cafe

This neighborhood cafe named after the newly repainted softdrink-promulgating billboard gracing it's exterior (moreover, it could have just as easily been called the Orange Crush Cafe) sports a large well-lit unisex restroom. The frosted French door allows plenty of natural sunlight to pour in, adding both depth and warmth inside. The polished fixtures and shiny blue tile mix with this light and the overhead light to create an effervescent energy perhaps reminiscent of the now defunct Clicquot Club soda. During one Saturday brunch-time visit, everything was absolutely immaculate, from the shiny porcelain toilet to the spot free sink. The mounted position of the toilet paper was slightly puzzling to me - as it was at a 45 degree angle. Ergonomically speaking, the benefits of this seemed negligible - although I'm not sure I can come to a definite conclusion without further studies. With it being angled away from the toilet, the approach angle of your arm becomes somewhat distorted - that is, in relation to regular toilet paper reaching exercises. However, the raised height does make it more accessible - and that combined with the unique angle could be enough to create an efficiency.
